About Phi Gamma Delta
FIJI was founded on May 1, 1848, at Jefferson College. They founded this fraternity in hopes to create enduring friendships, encourage the pursuit of knowledge, and grow courageous leaders. The FIJI nickname was started at NYU and was adopted as the official nickname of Phi Gamma Delta in 1894. Their mascot is the Snowy White Owl named "Gamma" and their color is Royal Purple. Phi Gamma Delta partners with International Red Cross, the United Service Organization, and Donate Life, however, each chapter has the freedom to choose their own philanthropy to donate to and serve.

Event Ideas
Philanthropy events do not have to be serious and boring. Actually, the more fun you make them, the more likely you are to have a super successful event. You can host an event that allows for some friendly competition such as a sports tournament, casino night, or trivia night. Or you could host an event that people to buy tickets just to be entertained such as a talent show or lip-sync battle. You could even host an event focused on food such as a pancake breakfast or a restaurant percent day. Whatever you choose make sure it is something that both your members and non-members would love.

Tips
Now, there are some tips and tricks to make your FIJI philanthropy event the most successful it can be. One of the biggest things you can do is invite organizations as a whole to your event such as other Greek life organizations or student organizations. This will make sure you are advertising to as many people as possible. Another thing you can do is sell tickets to competitive events. Even if people are not competing they will want to go to root on their friends or just to see who the ultimate winner will be. One thing that people do not think about is involving their local community outside of campus. You can ask local businesses for donations and just improve the overall reputation of Greek organizations by showing your community that you care. Also, try to do an event that another organization on campus has not done. Make it unique to FIJI and it will make people want to come to an exclusive event.
